Karnak, sailing down the Nile River, when a passenger, heiress Linnet Ridgeway (Lois Chiles), is murdered. Poirot investigates, and among the suspects are Salome (Angela Lansbury), Rosalie Otterbourne (Olivia Hussey), Dr. Bessner (Jack Warden), Mrs. Van Schuyler (Bette Davis), Miss Bowers (Maggie Smith), and Jacqueline De Bellefort (Mia Farrow)–nearly all of whom have motives for murder.
