  Set during the autumn of 1953 in a Roman Catholic boarding school, this is the story of 13-year-old Tom Allen's (Simon Burke) sexual awakening during which he must decide between restrictions on priests and temptations of the flesh. Brother Francine (Arthur Dignam) patrols the halls in search of evidence of "undisciplined minds," while Brother Victor (Nick Tate) administers discipline that affects both the hearts and minds of the students he reprimands.
