Johnny Rocco (Edward G. Robinson) and his gang have taken over a run-down hotel on Key Largo, Florida. At the same time, Frank McCloud (Humphrey Bogart) has come to visit the hotel owners, who are the father (Lionel Barrymore) and widow (Lauren Bacall) of his war buddy. Frank becomes their reluctant savior. Claire Trevor won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Rocco's alcoholic girlfriend. A great John Huston film of Post-World War II American attitudes.
