A small town in Maine is the setting for this tale based on a Stephen King novel. An ancient spaceship is found during a digging in the woods near the town. A greenish glow from the craft invades the town, and now the villagers display strange behaviors: inventions of all sorts of weird objects, powers of telepathy, acting out their fantasies, etc. Additionally, the townsfolk become obsessed with completing the digging-out the craft. But wait–an alcoholic, Jim (Jimmy Smits), has a plate in his head and is immune to the glow. Can he sober up and save the day?
