God gives Evan a copy of the book "Ark Building for Dummies" and commands him to build an ark. Evan ignores the challenge, but when God provides him with an overnight growth of beard that he cannot shave off and a myriad of paired animals, Evan becomes convinced and gathers his sons around him to help build that ark.

This works for awhile–until their caseworker Bernie (Don Cheadle) finds another home for Andi and Bruce. Their trespassing is discovered, and the dogs are impounded.
