Prohibition-Era gangster Vic Morono (Jack Palance) owns a nightclub/casino, The Four Deuces. One night Vic's mobsters rob a load of gin from his archrival, mob boss, and also nightclub owner Chico Hamilton (Warren Berlinger), which sets off a violent gang war. Meanwhile, Vic's girlfriend (Carol Lynley) is drawn to a reporter, and their lives will certainly be in danger when the gang warfare ends, and Vic catches on to what is going on.
