Behind-the-scenes moments reveal the closeness and intensities that are part of a successful ballet troupe directed by Alberto Antonelli (Malcolm McDowell). Ry (Neve Campbell) is on the verge of becoming the ballet company's principal dancer. Outside the world of dance, Ry supports herself as a waitress and enjoys the beginning of a romance with aspiring chef Josh (James Franco). Lots of dancing with Campbell doing her own dancing, and the rest of the dancers are members of the Joffrey Ballet.
