Dune 2000 TV, 280 min. Genre: Sci-Fi aka: Frank Herbert's Dune
Director: John Harrison Cast: William Hurt, Alec Newman, Saskia Reeves, James Watson, Jan Vlasak, Barbora Kodetova, P.H. Moriarty, Robert Russell, Laura Burton, Ian McNeice
Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi novel is brought to the screen for the second time–the first, in 1984, failed to capture the magnitude of the story. This one is not much better, but, as a TV miniseries nearly five hours long, it at least embraces some of the epic nature of the novel. The story concerns the quest for spice, and there is plenty of it on the barren planet Dune (though the story covers several planets and cultures). 1 User Review
