Gale Sondergaard received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Thus, the honeymoon must be skipped. Johnny's mother (Lucile Watson) moves in with the couple and is hypocritical of everything Jane does. Later, when their baby is born, more problems rise to the fore, and the marriage appears doomed. Then, on New Years Eve, their baby son becomes ill with pneumonia. Johnny appeals to Judge Doolittle for help in obtaining the needed medicine, and he comes to their aid–saving both the baby and the marriage as well.

The cousins greatly resemble each other, and Captain Fritz von Tarlenheim (David Niven) and Colonel Zapt (C. Aubrey Smith) take Rudolph to the Prince's hunting lodge where they meet. The next day, it is discovered that the Prince has been kidnapped, and now Rudolph becomes involved in palace intrigue and romance–with the Prince's fiancee Princess Flavia (Madeleine Carroll)–when he is asked to impersonate the Prince.

Trigger will make you so hungry that after seeing this movie, you have to get something to eat... and you will feel bad for eating it when she can't have any.
