This is one of three film adaptations of Tennessee Williams' play about Southern belle Amanda Winfield whose strong nature takes its toll on her two grown children. Not bad, but most will like the other two somewhat better.

In this 13-episode serial, Jesse James (Clayton Moore) is on the run from Missouri and rides into a Tennessee town. He immediately becomes involved in helping local farmers and ranchers take on the bad guys who want their land for the oil beneath the surface. A good serial. Highlight: movie-ending wagon chase.
