The small, remote town of Barrow, Alaska–the U.S.'s farthest north town–is plunged into darkness for 30 days each winter. Without having to worry about daytime during that month, it makes sense that vampires would converge on the small town during this time. And that's exactly what happens as an army of vampires arrive to have an uninterrupted feast. As the small community's population quickly diminishes, the town sheriffs–bickering husband and wife Eben and Stella (Josh Hartnett and Melissa George)–attempt to cope with the situation.
