The senior trip of a surf safari to Costa Rica is coming up for students at Laguna Beach High School. When a group of misfits is not invited, they decide to crash the party. But, first they must learn to surf. To accomplish their goal, they travel to Costa Rica a week before the event and enroll in a surfing school run by a surf bum (Harland Williams). And a teen comedy ensues.
