Barbara Stanwyck and Clark Gable shine as tough reporter Regina Forbes and equally tough race car driver Mike Brannan. After Mike is accused of causing a crash that claimed another driver's life, Regina tries to interview Mike. When Mike refuses to be interviewed by her, Regina uses her column to condemn him. Finally, they do meet and find action and romance amidst the exciting world of racing.
