  It is the mid-1960s, and Jude (Jim Sturgess) is stuck in a dead-end job in Liverpool–until he leaves his girlfriend (Lisa Hogg), and his mother (Angela Mounsey) behind when he gets a job as a deck hand and sails to America. Once there, he makes friends with Max (Joe Anderson) and falls in love with Max's sister Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood). Now living in Greenwich Village with Max, Jude and his circle of friends deal with anti-war protests, race riots, and rock 'n roll. The film's theme is based on songs made popular by the Beatles during that same time period. An Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design was received

  Told in flashbacks from her last flight when she disappeared over the Pacific Ocean, this film serves as a biography on famous aviator Amelia Earhart (Hilary Swank) who, in 1937, became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She had gained fame earlier when she flew with pilot Bill Lutz (Joe Anderson) and Slim Gordon (Aaron Abrams) on a 20-hour flight from Newfoundland to Wales. The film shows how Amelia enjoys her celebrity status and how her marriage to George Putnam (Richard Gere) suffers because of her frequent flights and because of her love affair with Gene Vidal (Ewan McGregor).

  In 1824, Ludwig van Beethoven (Ed Harris) is rushing to complete his now-famous Ninth Symphony, which is scheduled for its first public performance in a few days. But, he desperately needs a copyist to transcribe his work into something readable by the musicians. Young Anna (Diane Kruger), an aspiring musician, is hired for the job by his manager. The cantankerous Beethoven and Anna have their problems at first, but they learn to work together to complete the Symphony. Highlight: the performance of a 15-minute segment of the Ninth Symphony.

While teaching a seminar in Seattle, Burke meets and falls in love with Eloise Chandler (Jennifer Aniston) who has sworn off of men and is spending most of her time working in her floral business. Burke and Eloise have not met at the right time for either of them, but Jennifer makes Burke realize that he has not faced up to the loss of his wife–and, maybe in this case, love happens.

  American vacationers–Jeff (Jonathan Tucker), Amy (Jena Malone), Stacy (Laura Ramsey), and Eric (Shawn Ashmore)–meet Mathias (Joe Anderson) at a Mexican resort and agree to help him search for his brother who is missing in the jungle. They travel to an archeological dig and come upon a Mayan temple covered with vines. Villagers appear on the scene and start shooting at them. The group escapes by climbing the ruins, but even more dangers await at the top.
