Three intertwined plots–all taking place during Christmas–begin with Ronna (Sarah Polley) filling in for her friend Simon (Desmond Askew) as a Los Angeles grocery clerk while he heads off on a trip to Las Vegas. When soap stars Adam (Scott Wolf) and Zack (Jay Mohr) approach Ronna for a drug deal, Ronna acts as a go-between for Simon and his drug dealer friend Todd (Timothy Olyphant) but is caught by DEA agent Burke (William Fichtner, and Adam and Zack are busted for possession. Meanwhile, Simon is having more than a few problems in Las Vegas. Now, back at the grocery store, it turns out that Adam and Zach are lovers and find themselves in a sting operation, and their relationship with Burke and his wife Irene (Jane Krakowski) takes a very strange turn. What makes the movie work is the telling of the story from three different points of view.
