A Star Is Born 1976 R, 140 min. Genre: Drama / Musical / Romance
Director: Frank Pierson Cast: Barbra Streisand, Kris Kristofferson, Paul Mazursky, Gary Busey, Oliver Clark, Sally Kirkland, Robert Englund, Marta Heflin, Joanne Linville, Venetta Fields, Clydie King, M.G. Kelly
Sometimes remakes just do not capture all that the original movie did, and this version of "A Star Is Born" with Barbra Streisand as Esther and Kris Kristofferson as fading rock star Norman does not measure up to earlier versions. There was an Oscar, however, for Streisand's (and Paul Williams) song, "Evergreen."
