The ploy works, but there is no part for Judy in the film, and a dejected Judy returns to her Wisconsin home to marry her boyfriend. The film ends at the wedding when the newly married couple turns around, and the groom looks just like Errol Flynn (played by himself).

Academy Award nominations went to Davis (Best Actress) and Buono (Best Supporting Actor).
