Six New York City Lower East Side apartment dwellers lead lives bordering on both sides of eccentric. Therapist Betty (Sandra Bernhard) would love to find the right man to fill her dreams, actor Graham (Peter Stormare) is looking for a big film role, immigrant Lu Lu (Ling Bai) wants a green card for her husband, and Che's (Paul Anthony Stewart) wife Marta (Ornella Muti) is in love with inept thief Frankie (Robert John Burke). Their lives cross when former New York City Mayor Ed Koch (playing himself) is kidnapped during the finale of this ensemble comedy.
