Traveling salesmen Chester Primm (Lou Costello) and Duke Egan (Bud Abbott) arrive in the town of Western Gap where Chester accidentally kills a man and then learns that he is responsible for his victim's debts and family. Although Duke tries to find ways to free Chester from his debt to Widow Hawkins, she, in turn, tries to get Chester to propose to her. It turns out that Widow Hawkins owns the most valuable property in town, and by story's end, Chester and saloon owner Jake Frame (Gordon Jones) fight a gun duel.
