  When Linda (Theresa Russell) was 15 years old, she gave a baby up for adoption. Now, it is years later, and Linda is unhappily married to Dr. Henry (Christopher Lloyd) who is preoccupied with model trains–his "locos." One day, Martin (Gary Oldman) appears on the scene and claims that he is Linda's long-lost son. Linda bonds with Martin, but as she gets to know him there are signs that Martin may not be who he says he is.

  This is the film adaptation of Flannery O'Connor's philosophical novel. The story traces the life of World War II veteran Hazel Motes (Brad Dourif) as he returns to his home in the Deep South and finds his parents' home boarded up. Searching for spiritual meaning, Hazel forms his own Church of Truth and, despite being the grandson of a religious zealot (John Huston), Hazel becomes the preacher in his Christ-less church. Excellent Huston fare.
