  This spoof on sports movies features David Koechner as Lambeau "Coach" Fields, the worst coach in history, who tries to change his luck when he takes on the job of coaching the hapless Heartland State University's Comebacks. He spends the season trying to shape a squad of losers into a winning team by teaching them to act like REAL players: failing classes, getting involved in sexual harassment suits, and drinking to excess. Now comes the big moment when they enter the second annual Toilet Bowl and compete against Field's old assistant coach Freddie Wiseman (Carl Weathers).

  This film is loosely based on the true story of Wiley College professor Melvin B. Tolson (Denzel Washington) who, in 1935, led his small, Black, Texas college team of debaters against Harvard University's team of renown. Tolson's team–Henry Lowe (Nate Parker) and Hamilton Burgess (Jermaine Williams) are joined by alternates Samantha Booke (Jurnee Smollett) and James Farmer, Jr. (Denzel Whitaker). They undergo vigorous training by Tolson as he helps them improve their speaking skills. Conflicts concerning Tolson's efforts to help migrant farm workers rise to the fore, but, in the end, lessons are learned, and the debate team members learn to believe in themselves.

  L.A. street dancer DJ's (Columbus Short) brother dies in his arms following a gunshot wound. Grieving over this tragedy, DJ leaves L.A. to attend Atlanta's Truth University where he joins Theta Nu Theta fraternity. Romance with April (Meagan Good), class conflict, and dancing ensue. Then, Kyle dies in a freak accident, and Lance writes a suicide note for his son. When the note is published in the school newspaper, Lance gains respect and popularity, but will he be able to live with his ill-begotten fame?
