  This is a very good movie by the same director who made "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." Cher, who lives with her lawyer father, Mel (Dan Hedaya), and stepbrother Josh (Paul Rudd), loves to help the less-fortunate students at her school. She does help geeky Tai (Brittany Murphy) and turns her into a popular student at their school. What Cher lacks is a perfect boyfriend, but he may be in her near future.
