Based on Barbara Taylor Bradford's popular novel of the same name, this TV miniseries tells the story of Emma Harte, who started as a poor shop girl and rose to head a vast empire. In the process, she overcame many obstacles, including the social issues of the 1890s-1930s in England. Jenny Seagrove plays the young Emma, and Deborah Kerr is the older Emma. Followed by a sequel: "Hold the Dream." Kerr received an Emmy nomination for her acting, and the production was also nominated for Best Miniseries.
