  1970s' promoter Rod Blue (Joel Edgerton) has given all to get Frank Sinatra (Dennis Hopper) to perform in a concert in Australia. But when Sinatra and his wife, Barbara Marx (Melanie Griffith), arrive in Australia, Sinatra insults a reporter and sets off a chain of events that requires Rod to save the day.

  Feeling neglected on her 10th wedding anniversary when her husband, Ronnie (Bruce Spence), has not returned from a business trip, Wendy (Rosanna Arquette), an ardent reader of romance novels, also thinks that he may be having an affair. Then, Jake (Hugo Weaving) comes along and is determined to start an affair. Meanwhile, Ronnie goes through all sorts of problems–including lightning strikes. But all ends well in this fanciful tale from Australia.

  Despairing of hope for a grant to carry out his research on progeria (a disorder that hastens aging), Richard Shorkinghorn (David Wenham) is thrilled when hope of financing from the Michael Foundation comes his way. There is a catch, however: he must spend time at the home of the head of the foundation. Richard agrees, and the ensuing weekend proves very interesting indeed.
