Feeling neglected on her 10th wedding anniversary when her husband, Ronnie (Bruce Spence), has not returned from a business trip, Wendy ( Rosanna Arquette), an ardent reader of romance novels, also thinks that he may be having an affair. Then Jake (Hugo Weaving) comes along and is determined to start an affair. Meanwhile, Ronnie goes through all sorts of problems–including lightning strikes. But all ends well in this fanciful tale from Australia.

There is a catch, however: he must spend time at the home of the head of the foundation. Richard agrees, and the ensuing weekend proves very interesting indeed.
