Now the safety of those on Amity Island lies in the hands of Police Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), and fisherman Quint (Robert Shaw). They board Quint's boat "The Orca" and hunt down the deadly creature. The filmmakers do a superior job of building suspense with music, camera angles, and a shark that doesn't appear until 82 minutes into the film. All performances add to the success of this classic film. The film won Oscars for Best Film Editing, Original Musical Score, and Sound–and was nominated for Best Picture.

Roy Scheider once again is the vigilant protector of the public from the great white shark in this sequel that doesn't quite match up to Spielberg's original. There is some pretty good excitement, however.
