A warm, hilarious, nostalgic film, in particular for anyone who had grown up in the Midwest during the 1940's. Narrated by Jean Shepard who also wrote the novel on which it was based.

  Based on a true story, this creepy tale is about an unstable, Wisconsin farmer who is made even more unstable by his domineering mother. When she dies, he misses her so much that he digs her up and preserves her. He then kills and stuffs other women to keep her company. Roberts Blossom does a good job as the psycho–making the viewer even more uneasy. "Psycho" and "The Texas Chairsaw Massacre" are also based on the story of Ed Gein, the psychotic killer.
