Of course, there is the romantic interest with his lead singer (Alice Faye) and the rival (Don Ameche). The film also received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.

The personal lives of the guests at this dinner party are scrutinized, and the result is a highly entertaining, sophisticated comedy.

She leaves the Smith family and goes to work for another family. Dressler was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar.
