They then dump him at a police station where he quits the heroin by the "Cold Turkey" method, recovers, and is back on the job tracking down the drug dealers.

During his search, D'Artagnan joins forces with Francesca (Mena Suvari), whose mother had served the Queen (Catherine Deneuve), and Francesca has remained close to her. By story's end, D'Artagnan prevents a war and falls in love with Francesca.
