Susanna leaves friends behind when she reclaims her independence and moves out of the institution and on with her life. Jolie won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

Their scam was to swindle elderly women out of their money and then murder them to destroy any evidence. Fernandez and Beck were finally arrested, confessed to 12 of their murders, and were electrocuted the same day at Sing Sing prison in 1951.
