Eight-year-old Erica (Briana Shipley) loves watching her father Greg Enders (Jon Lindstrom) race and longs to be a racer herself. When she tries to sign up for the children's league of the National Hot Rod Association, she is turned down because, as she is told, "Hot rodding is a man's sport." A few years later, teenage Erica (now played by Beverley Mitchell) and her younger sister Courtney (Brie Larson) are racing and beating the boys–and they are ready to compete in the Junior National Championship. Based on a true story.
