| | Anonymous 08/27/2009 | | I loved this movie! I have recommended it to several friends who have also loved it. I felt what the characters were going through. It is a movie that I will watch again because I just loved the way the film takes me through emotions. I am not a black woman and another reviewer stated that I would not connect with it the way the black community would and I challenge that statement. I think EVERY woman will connect with this movie. I may have missed something, but I didn't see it as a racially segregated nor racially targeted movie. If it is such a film then I am glad I failed to identify that because I am a true fan of the movie and don't want any racial bias to taint how I feel. |
| | TYLERS MOVIE | 4real 11/06/2007 | | This film is one of his better films which he acknowledges himself. I don't expect white people to connect to this film the way the black community will connect to it so for that reason is why it did so well. The writing isn't superb but you have to give him credit for improvement. It's the first in a long time where African-Americans we're seen in a way that wasn't "stereotypical". So congrats to Tyler and the cast. Mad KUDOS to Jill Scott and Janet Jackson who surprised everyone with there very raw and real performances. Don't Hate, Celebrate! |
