Clare Abshire (Rachel McAdams) has been in love with Chicago librarian Henry De Tamble (Eric Bana) ever since she was a child. The problem is that Henry is a time traveler, and he vanishes from time to time as he uncontrollably skips back and forth through time. Claire and Henry marry, and, despite Henry's disappearances, Claire tries to build a lasting relationship with Henry.
