Jim Traft (Benny Baker) meets Jim Travis (Tom Keene) at a rodeo and tells Travis of his troubles with cattle rustlers. But Travis must not only fight the rustlers, but he needs to convince neighbor Slinger Dunn (Buster Crabbe) that the fence must be built. Travis wins not only the battle of the rustlers but also wins the love of Slinger's sister, Molly (Katherine DeMille).

Cleopatra's son Albert (Baby LeRoy) becomes McGonigle's nemesis, and Albert enjoys tormenting him by throwing food in his face. McGonigle must also deal with his daughter Betty (Judith Allen) and her romance with Wally Livingston (Joe Morrison). The show goes on, but McGonigle deletes Cleopatra's role in the play and skips out without paying the bills after the performance–but he does ensure Betty's happiness in a future with Wally.
