It works, and one of the small demons appears. At first, things are great as wishes are granted, but things go sour and Terry must again fight the creatures while trying to re-close the gate.

When she finally arrives, Kataya is upset with Pierre's attitude, calls off the interview, and leaves. Pierre follows but, as he leaves the building, gets hurt in a traffic accident. Kataya takes him home to nurse his wounds, and a night of trying to out-manipulate each other in a perverse game of wits ensues.
