  When Steve (John Parrish) builds a saloon–in competition with another bar in town–next to Lucy's (Anne O'Neal) schoolhouse, she begins a feud by throwing apples through the bar's windows. When Lucy is kidnapped, Hopalong Cassidy (William Boyd), along with sidekicks California (Andy Clyde) and Lucky (Rand Brooks), steps in to take care of the situation. This is the final film of the "Hopalong Cassidy" series of about 66 films–a series that featured action, humor, and often better-than-average plots.

  Produced and written by Blake Edwards, this is the story of farmers moving west but not without problems encountered by ranchers over land rights. Brothers Mike and Tim McCall (Rod Cameron and Don Castle) own a ranch and have control of a dam. When settlers John Dawson (Steve Clark) and his daughter Connie (Gale Storm) arrive, they discover that their land is dry. After many problems, the dam is blown up, war breaks out, and a cattle stampede ensues.
