The Last of the Mohicans 1920 N/R, 72 min. Genre: Adventure / Drama
Director: Maurice Tourneur, Clarence Brown Cast: Wallace Beery, Barbara Bedford, Alan Roscoe, Lillian Hall, Henry Woodward, Theodore Lorch, Boris Karloff, James Gordon, George Hackathorne, Nelson McDowell, Harry Lorraine, Jack McDonald, Sydney Deane, Joseph Singleton, Chief Tahachee
This early version of "The Last of the Mohicans" was the last major work of director Maurice Tourneur. It is the story of the French and Indian War of the 1700s and the role, as allies, that Indian tribes played for both sides. This film is close to the original James Fenimore Cooper book as it relates the efforts of Hawkeye (Harry Lorraine) and the last of the Mohicans–Uncas (Alan Roscoe) and Chingachgook (Theodore Lorch)–to rescue Alice and Cora Munro (Lillian Hall and Barbara Bedford) from the evil Magua (Wallace Berry). Can you find Boris Karloff as an Indian?
