In this sequel to "Grumpy Old Men," besides the original cast, Sophia Loren joins in the fray as Max Goldman's (Walter Matthau) new love interest Maria Sophia Coletta Ragetti. When John and Max scheme to shut down the restaurant that has replaced their bait shop in Wabasha County, Minnesota, Max falls in love with Maria who runs the restaurant with her mother, Francesca (Ann Morgan Guilbert). Meanwhile, problems develop between Max's son Jacob (Kevin Pollak) and John's daughter Melanie (Daryl Hannah) when their fathers keep interfering with their wedding plans. Yes, the outtakes during the closing credits are also in this film.
