  This French screenplay of Rostand's classic play features Gerard Depardieu as Cyrano De Bergerac who desperately yearns for the love of the beautiful Roxanne (Anne Brochet). The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Film, and Depardieu was nominated for Best Actor. An Oscar was received for Best Costume Design.
