Alcatraz was supposedly escape-proof, or so it was thought, until 1962 when three prisoners–Frank Morris (Clint Eastwood) and the Anglin brothers (Jack Thibeau and Fred Ward)–actually swam away into San Francisco Bay. This is a grade A prison film, and Clint Eastwood does a great job.

John is a serial killer, and he leaves corpses of victims in their cars for Jim to discover, and Jim is framed as the chief suspect in the killings. When Jim meets truck-stop waitress Nash (Jennifer Jason Leigh), the two of them set out, evading the police, to stop John's murder spree and clear Jim's name.
