This is a good prison film, and Clint Eastwood does a great job.

John is a serial killer, and he leaves corpses of victims in their cars for Jim to discover, and Jim is framed as the chief suspect in the killings. When Jim meets truck-stop waitress Nash (Jennifer Jason Leigh), the two of them set out, evading the police, to stop John's murder spree and clear Jim's name.

They are on the trail of trained killers led by The General (Mitch Ryan) whose top henchman Joshua (Gary Busey) will stop at nothing to achieve success in drug smuggling.
