A young U.S. Navy attorney, Ltjg. LCdr. JoAnne Galloway (Demi Moore) is assigned as co-counsel, and she urges Kaffee to look at the law as an exciting field in which to discover truth. Kaffee's case involves two Marines–Pfc. Downey (James Marshall) and Cpl. Dawson (Wolfgang Bodison)–who are accused of murdering a fellow Marine. Kaffee follows Galloway's instructions to look for the truth, and, under questioning, Downey and Dawson reveal that the murder was ordered by Lt. Kendrick (Kiefer Sutherland). Kendrick's senior officer Col. Nathan Jessup (Jack Nicholson) denies any knowledge of Kendrick issuing the order and wants the investigation stopped. Now, Kaffee is determined to find the proof behind the allegations even if it means going head-to-head with tough Col. Jessup. Genre: Comedy
Director: Richard Rush
Cast: Susan Strasberg, Dean Stockwell, Jack Nicholson, Bruce Dern, Adam Roarke, Max Julien, Henry Jaglom, Linda Gaye Scott, Ken Scott, Garry Marshall

This film gets its "1/2 star" rating only because it is an EARLY Jack Nicholson film. However, the plot is weak and involves a deaf girl (Susan Strasberg) searching for her brother among the 1960's "hippies" of San Francisco. Of course, some of those who were part of that culture may enjoy it.    1 User Review
