The picture won five Academy awards: Best Picture, Actor (Nicholson), Actress (Fletcher), Director (Milos Forman), and Writing and was nominated for four others, including Best Supporting Actor (Brad Dourif).

He learns that the man in the hotel room next to his has died, and, looking for a "better" life, David takes the dead man's passport and assumes his identity. Now, David keeps the dead man's appointments and uncovers smuggling plots involving a terrorist group. This is a Western with an ending you will remember.
