  Two classic tales, Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows" and Washington Irving's "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" are retold in this animated Disney film. Basil Rathbone narrates "The Wind in the Willows" in which Mr. Toad (voice of Eric Blore) loves motorcars, and Mole (voice of Colin Campbell) and Rat (voice of Claud Allister) try unsuccessfully to lock him up so he cannot steal a car. Bing Crosby narrates "Legend of Sleepy Hollow," which involves the story of schoolmaster Ichabod Crane who tries to win the love of Katrina and keep her away from Brom Bones.

  Two Disney animated movies are represented in this 1947 film: (1) "Mickey and the Beanstalk"–Mickey, Donald, and Goofy (voices of Walt Disney, Clarence Nash, and Pinto Colvig) bring their version of the famous tale. Edgar Bergen and his dummies Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd tell the story to a young girl (Luana Patten) (2) Bongo the circus bear is not happy with his current "job," so escapes into the forest. He finds that life on the outside is tough, but eventually finds his true love. Dinah Shore provides the narration and songs. Jiminy Cricket (voice of Cliff Edwards) provides the transition between the two stories.
