In this TV version of the Tennessee Williams play, Jessica Lange plays Maggie the Cat who is married to the alcoholic Brick (Tommy Lee Jones). Brick's family has gathered for Big Daddy's (Rip Torn) 65th birthday when Maggie jumps all over Brick because of his drinking. Hostilities also heat up between Brick and Big Daddy. Then Big Daddy learns that he is dying, and this news leads to more trouble as Big Daddy's children struggle over the legacy of his estate.
