  Massachusetts Institute of Technology senior Ben (Jim Sturgess) needs money to pay for medical school next year at Harvard. He finds the answer to his problem through math Professor Micky Rosa (Kevin Spacey) who has cracked the code for winning at blackjack. Ben joins a group from MIT who, using fake I.D.s, head for Las Vegas to beat the odds. All goes well–until the casino's enforcer Cole Williams (Laurence Fishbourne) realizes that there is a problem involving the gambling and determines to expose the scam. Based on a true story.

Instead, James finds work at a local amusement park, Adventureland, in an effort to save money for grad school. Life isn't great, until James makes friends with co-workers Joel (Martin Starr) and Mike (Ryan Reynolds). But the one who really makes a difference in James' life is another co-worker Em Lewin (Kristen Stewart) with whom he falls in love. Now life is looking much better.
