  Ron Howard's fun and well-made film concerns aliens retrieving "friends" stored undersea for 10,000 years and then placing them in an abandoned pool. They encounter old folks from a retirement home who have discovered that the cocoons have incredible restorative powers. The "old folks" are terrific, especially Don Ameche who won an Oscar for his performance.

Now, the rejuvenated retirees return to Florida for a visit, and each couple must decide whether to stay or go back with the "friends." Not as good as the previous film, but entertaining.

  I remember seeing this movie when it was first shown in a New York City theater in 1967. Pretty good movie for its time.

  This is a sleeper. Outstanding class, first rate plot (high tension), great acting. All the ingredients of a top drawer movie.
