The Leprechaun (Warwick Davis) shows up this time in 1970s' L.A. where the ruthless Mack Daddy (Ice-T) not only steals his gold but drugs and imprisons him as well. Now, 20-years later, it is Mack Daddy who is being robbed by three young rappers: Postmaster P (Coolio), Stray Bullet (Rashaan Nall), and Butch (Red Grant). Unfortunately for them, they revive the Leprechaun during the break-in. Trouble ensues.

This film is based on the 1942 Italian movie, "Four Steps in the Clouds." This time around, the story is set in California's Napa Valley in 1945. Keanu Reeves plays a World War II veteran, Paul Sutton, who poses as the husband of unwed, pregnant Victoria (Aitana Sanchez-Gijon). Victoria's father is Mexican-American winegrower Alberto Albertini (Giancarlo Giannini) who does not trust Paul even though her grandfather Don Pedro (Anthony Quinn) accepts him. Paul believes that if he sticks around for a few days and then leaves, he will be the bad one, and Alberto will vent his wrath on him instead of Victoria.
