Based on the Marvel comics superhero, this film was the pilot for a TV series. This being his daytime job, he works as a photographer for the newspaper by night. His major task at the moment is saving the world from a mad scientist who blackmails the city by threatening to unleash people programmed to blow themselves up.

George sees a psychiatrist, moves to California, and becomes a piano player. Doris' life also changes from a hippie lifestyle to that of a successful businesswoman. Without fail, every five years, they always appear on schedule and help each other through crises of life. Burstyn was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar.
