  Fashion photographer Laura Mars (Faye Dunaway) has premonitions about a series of gruesome murders involving her friends and associates. When they become victims of actual crimes, Laura seeks help. Police detective John Neville (Tommy Lee Jones) steps in to identify the killer. Gradually, Laura begins to realize that she is being stalked by the killer who seems to be trying to discredit her photography work.
