Based on D.H. Lawrence's novella, this drama involves sisters Yvette (Joanna Shimkus) and Lucille (Harriet Harper) returning home to England from their French school. Once again living under the rules of their strict, rector father (Maurice Denham) oppresses the girls. One day, while on a walk Yvette meets a free-spirited Gypsy (Franko Nero) at his camp and is sexually attracted to him. The Gypsy just may provide the freedom that Yvette longs for from her family's oppressive lifestyle.
