He gets a job working for a White family (Ruth Cracknell and Don Crosby), and while Jimmie is working for them, a serving girl, Gilda (Angela Punch McGregor), at the estate becomes pregnant. Jimmie marries her to protect her honor. Later, it turns out that Jimmie is not the father, and Jimmie is ostracized.
