Opera 1987 R, 90 min. Genre: Foreign / Horror aka: Terror at the Opera
Director: Dario Argento Cast: Cristina Marsillach, Ian Charleson, Urbano Barberini, Daria Nicolodi, Coralina Cataldi Tassoni, Antonella Vitale, William McNamara, Barbara Cupisti, Francesca Cassola, Maurizio Garrone
Director Argento comes through with lots of gore again, this time with loud rock music in the background. In fact, the gore may be more than his usual, if that is possible–some is downright revolting. A young opera singer, Betty (Cristina Marsillach) takes over the lead in a Verdi opera after the previous lead was run over by a car, and now a psychopath pursues her.

The Sun Also Rises 1984 TV, 200 min. Genre: Drama
Director: James Goldstone Cast: Jane Seymour, Hart Bochner, Robert Carradine, Zeljko Ivanek, Ian Charleson, Leonard Nimoy, Stephane Audran, Andrea Occhipinti, Elisabeth Bourgine, Hutton Cobb
This remake of Henry King's 1957 "The Sun Also Rises" pales by comparison to the first rendition of Hemingway's classic tale about the "Lost Generation" of expatriates who roamed Europe between the two World Wars. Nicely photographed.
